Electricity utility Constellation Energy has announced that William Munn is retiring as president and CEO of its BGE Home electricity services subsidiary effective in March 2008 and will be succeeded by Kevin Klages, who is currently the COO.

As president for the past 13 years, Mr Munn has been the driving force behind the growth and success of BGE Home as it matured from a regional storefront retailer into a high-efficiency home comfort sales and service business, as well as a recognized leader in the sale of high efficiency heating, ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment, the company said.

Mr Klages, who has been with BGE Home since its founding, also serves as the American Cancer Society’s board representative to the United Way of Central Maryland.

Thomas Brady, Constellation Energy’s executive vice president for corporate strategy, said: Bill and his team have positioned BGE Home to be a leader in the fast-growing high-efficiency HVAC sector. Under his leadership, the company has made great strides and, most impressively, has done so while boosting customer satisfaction to 96%.
