The Belgian Senate has approved two new energy bills that bring the country’s energy sector into line with EU requirements. The move has been supported by the national incumbent Electrabel which sees the laws as a positive element for the whole functioning of the energy market.
The two bills aim to provide more stability by moving from the current annual system of tariff setting to a four-year tariff setting period for gas and electricity charges.
