Menter Newydd is a joint venture of Hitachi Nuclear Energy Europe, Bechtel Management Company and JGC Corporation.
Under the contract, the joint venture will provide front-end engineering and construction planning for the Wylfa Newydd nuclear plant power plant, which is overseen by Horizon Nuclear Power.

The partners are will commence full scale construction of the facility by 2020. The plant is expected to cost £10bn ($14.4bn).
Expected to create 8,000 to 10,000 jobs during construction phase, the project is designed to provide low-carbon energy for up to 5 million households.
Bechtel Nuclear, Security, & Environmental global business unit president Craig Albert said: "The technology is proven and reliable, the UK has a supply chain that’s ready to grow, and the plant will help the UK meet its energy demand and carbon reduction targets."
For the project, Hitachi Nuclear Energy Europe will leverage its experience in deployment of boiling water reactor, including four advanced boiling water reactors (ABWRs).
The project will also combines Bechtel’s experience as overall project management partner and JGC’s expertise in project management and integration.
Hitachi Menter Newydd project director Malcolm Twist said: "We expect to begin firming up relationships with our main sub-contractors – many of them British – very soon."
