Barminco has received mining services contract from AngloGold Ashanti for its Sunrise Dam project, located south of Laverton, Western Australia for a period of five years.
Under the $500m contract, Barminco will provide all underground mine operating activities along with development and production.
Gold ore at Sunrise Dam project is structurally and lithologically controlled within gently dipping high strain shear zones and steeply dipping brittle-ductile low strain shears zones.
Host rocks include andesitic volcanic rocks, volcanogenic sediments and magnetic shales.
Barminco CEO Neil Warburton said AngloGold Ashanti’s renewal of the contract was recognition of Barminco’s ability to consistently deliver industry best safety and productivity performance.
"The longer-term renewal of this significant contract with such a high caliber client demonstrates a partnership that has grown over many years delivering key performance outcomes for AngloGold Ashanti and a high level of confidence in Barminco," Warburton said.
