“Production is expected to resume when delivery of crude arrives by early next month,” said Rezaul Karim, managing director of ERL.

The supply chain to the 30,000 barrel-per-day capacity refinery near port of Chittagong was disrupted as a tanker carrying around 600,000 barrels of crude failed to sail from Abu Dhabi due to mechanical trouble, another ERL official said.

The tanker was due to arrive in Chittagong between October 5-10, 2009. The delivery has been re-planned and the cargo is now projected to reach Chittagong by the first week of November 2009.
