A Nuclear Regulatory Commission spokesman was quoted the Associated Press as saying that the Ginna plant’s reactor was stopped by control rods just before 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
He added that investigators were trying to ascertain as to why the generator went off-line during a test at the Baltimore-based Constellation Energy Nuclear Group’s plant.
It is not yet known when the reactor will come back online.
