India-based Azure Power has commenced operations at a 35MW solar plant at Nagaur in the northern state of Rajasthan.

Azure Power chief executive officer Inderpreet Wadhwa said that the facility has been constructed beside an existing 5MW unit, making it the largest under India’s National Solar Mission.

The solar power plant was funded by US-based Export-Import Bank while, First Solar has supplied thin-film solar modules for it.

Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam will be powered by the electricity generated at the plant.
