The A$250 million Hornsdale wind project has been touted as Australia’s "best" wind farm because of the high capacity factor that it will achieve.

French firm Neoen is developing the Hornsdale project in the mid-north of South Australia, near the town of Jamestown. It will consist of 100 wind turbines and will start operating in 2016.

Neoen and its local partner, Megawatt Capital, earlier this year secured a 20-year feed-in tariff in an auction held by the ACT government.
