The order worth $17m from the JKC Australia LNG in the second quarter, includes turboexpanders and air compressors to be delivered in the third quarter of 2013.

Atlas Copco turboexpanders will be used in gas treatment, while the three-stage air compressors will produce instrument air for use at the onshore plant for the project.

Atlas Copco Compressor Technique business area president Stephan Kuhn said, "Atlas Copco’s substantial LNG knowledge and references, combined with our ability to meet the precise and rigorous specifications of this project, helped us win this order."

INPEX Corporation, the operator of the $34bn Ichthys LNG project, and partner Total will produce liquefied natural gas (LNG) using natural gas from the Ichthys Field.

Gas produced from the field in Browse Basin will undergo preliminary processing offshore where water and condensate will be separated following which it will be exported through an 889km subsea pipeline to onshore processing facilities in Darwin.

The Ichthys LNG Project annual production is expected at 8.4 million tons of LNG and 1.6 million tons of LPG, along with about 100,000 barrels of condensate per day at peak.
