UK-based consultancy Atkins has been awarded a three-year framework agreement for environmental consultancy with the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA).

Atkins will be called upon to provide advice on water pollution control, flood warning and forecasting, aquatic management planning, environmental management system and climate change.

The firm offers telecommunications and remote monitoring as part of its service, and will use experience gained with the Environment Agency in England and Wales to inform work on cross-border issues, such as the implementation of the Water Framework Directive.

SEPA is Scotland’s official environmental regulator, responsible for controlling pollution to land, air and water.
