As part of the order, Arista Power will provide a power on demand renewable energy storage and management system to be deployed at Zweigle’s manufacturing facility in Rochester.
Arista Power’s system reduces electricity demand charges, which are based on a customer’s peak power demand on the grid and which can account for 30% to 70% of a commercial electric bill.
Zweigle’s president Julie Camardo-Steron said the implementation of Arista Power’s renewable energy system allows the company to reduce its carbon footprint.
"The savings from generating a portion of our own power along with energy incentives intended to encourage manufacturers to pursue alternate energy sources will fully fund the system," Camardo-Steron said.
The system utilizes energy generated by wind turbines, solar photovoltaic or the grid itself in conjunction with a custom-designed battery storage system and a real-time smart monitoring technology.
