According to the terms of the agreement, Entrepose Projets subsidiary CMP Dunkerque will build two upper sections of the turbine tower at its plant in Dunkirk, while Foure Lagadec will build the lower section of the tower.
Areva renewable energy business group senior executive vice-president Louis-François Durret said that the agreement constitutes a major step in the establishment of the Areva’s industrial offshore plan in France: the offshore wind sector is progressing, bringing jobs and re-industrialization to local regions.
The agreement, which will create around 200 jobs, aims to support the long-term development of the offshore wind sector in France by building on the existing industrial expertise in the regions of Haute Normandie and Nord-Pas-de-Calais.
Entrepose Contracting COO Bruno Marce said, "This agreement with Areva lays the foundation for the reinforcement of the boiler making industry and the development of CMP Dunkerque’s competencies in offshore wind power."
