Framatome ANP, a joint venture of Areva 'and Siemens, has been awarded a contract to design, fabricate and licence two replacement once-through steam generators for 875 MW Unit 1 of Exelon Corp’s Three Mile Island nuclear plant.

The design of the Enhanced Once-Through Steam Generator (E-OTSG) will be undertaken by Areva’s Lynchburg, Va. facility, while the fabrication will take place at Chalon sur Saône in France.

The replacement steam generators are scheduled for delivery at Three Mile Island, located in Middletown, Penn, in 2009 and will mark the second use of this design in the United States.
