Built with an investment of €350m, the 583MW Maua 3 plant is scheduled to replace Manaus’s existing diesel-fueled thermal power plant, an will feature two gas turbines, two heat recovery steam generators and one steam turbine.
Under the €5m contract, Arcadis will be responsible for review and validation of design and engineering, planning, supervision of health and safety, environmental aspects and construction, as well as quality control, and assistance during commissioning and trial operation for next 27 months.
Arcadis Logos CEO Manoel Antonio Avelino said the company is responsible for design, engineering and management of the construction of 20% of the total capacity of Brazil’s existing thermal power plants.

The Maua 3 plant is scheduled to commence operations in mid-2014.
