The facility, acquired through Aquila’s Infrastructure Coalition Program, was built and owned by Vancouver-based Surespan group.
The hydro-electric plant became operational in January 2012, and all the electricity generated is supplied to BC Hydro under a 20-year electricity purchase agreement.
Travelers Capital Corporation (TCC) has arranged a non-recourse debt financing, acting as a loan and security agent, while TCC’s strategic partner Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services has funded the project.
Aquila Infrastructure Management Program manager and CEO said, "This very well-built facility compliments our hydropower objectives by bringing the cumulative generation capacity of our portfolio to 20 MW."
