Aqua America subsidiaries have purchased four water and wastewater systems in North Carolina and Virginia in the US.

Aqua North Carolina purchased the water and wastewater system assets serving nearly 400 people in Colvard Farms Subdivision, located in Chatham County, for $184,000.

Aqua Virginia purchased the water system assets of the Brookwood Manor public water system, which serves about 225 people in New Kent County for $50,000.

Aqua Virginia also purchased assets of the Cedarbrooke Subdivision public water system, which serves nearly 150 people in Culpeper County for $50,000.

Both systems are in the immediate vicinity of other Aqua Virginia systems and will be managed from the firm’s Rockville Virginia Operations Center.

The systems are slated for capital additions including treatment system improvements and the installation of a radio frequency metering system.
