The request for proposal (RFP) includes solar, wind, biogas, landfill gas, biomass, geothermal, hybrid wind and solar, renewable natural gas and hydropower technologies.
The energy procured from this request is expected to help Arizona Public Service (APS) meet its growing demand for energy.
APS conducted a similar RFP process in 2007 which resulted in several new renewable energy contracts. The most notable being the 280MW Solana generating station, which will be located 70 miles southwest of Phoenix, near Gila Bend, Arizona.
