Apex Clean Energy, a renewable energy company based in the US, has inked two power purchase agreements (PPAs) with electric power company PacifiCorp for Apex's $230m Long Ridge Wind project in Utah.

The agreements comprise total wind power generation capacity of 160MW, consisting of two 80MW projects, which are enough to meet electricity requirements of 43,000 average US homes.

Apex president Mark Goodwin said PPAs are a significant step in taking the projects ahead.

"We are excited about continuing our work on these projects with the Bureau of Land Management and helping our country achieve its renewable energy goals," added Goodwin.

Being developed with an investment of about $230m, the Long Ridge project is expected to generate significant tax revenues, economic benefits and jobs for Millard County.
