APAC-Mississippi, Inc. (APAC-Mississippi), provider of asphalt paving services, receives a $5 million Interstate 20 project (I-20 project) in Jackson, from Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT).

The I- 20 project will consist of two phases. The first one is the construction of a new Interstate 20 eastbound temporary offramp to Gallatin street and the second phase includes the placement of temporary supports underneath the Interstate 20 westbound bridge over US highway 51/State Street.

The project is expected to be completed by August 2009.

As part of the project the officials have also decided to repair the Interstate 20 bridge to maintain the integrity of the bridge and safety of the public, as reported by the MDOT officials. The bridge carries more than 120,000 vehicles every day.

After the construction of the new temporary offramp, the US highway 51 and adjacent ramps will be closed. A detour will be put in place while the project is being completed. The detour will remain in place until the Interstate 20 westbound bridge has been replaced with a new bridge.
