According to the director of public relations and government of Angola LNG, Laurentino Silva, the 25 kilometer-extension project, will last 18 months and is handed over to two building companies, comprising of Acergy S.A. in charge of offshore and the SPIE SA for on-shore works.
The Angola LNG project, under execution since 2006, in the domain of the Angolan government policy will be accomplished in 2011.
The project is a joint-venture with the participation of BP Exploration 13.6%, Chevron Corporation (Chevron) 36.4%, Exxon Mobil Corporation 13.6%, Sonangol E.P. 22.8% and Total S.A 13.6%.
Senior technician of Chevron, Greg Greenleaf said that the pipeline will have three lines of 22,20 and 18 inches, as well as an accessory in fiber optics for electronic control of pressure, temperature and detection of breakdowns.
