Andritz’s scope of supply includes six Francis turbines each with an output of 200MW, six generators, additional equipment, as well as engineering services. The delivery time is seven years in total.
The Ilisu hydroelectric project is to be situated on the Tigris river. With a planned capacity of 1,200MW, the power station will supply eco-friendly electricity for two million households from 2015. Compared to a thermal power station, this will help avoid about three million tons of carbon dioxide per year.
Total costs of the project amount to approximately EUR1.1bn. Andritz Hydro is part of a delivery consortium led by Turkish construction company Nurol. The consortium also includes other European and Turkish companies.
