Verbund has awarded Andritz Hydro a contract to modernize the 236MW Ybbs-Persenbeug run-of-river power plant in Austria, the oldest hydro plant in the country.
Verbund has awarded Andritz Hydro a contract to modernize the 236MW Ybbs-Persenbeug run-of-river power plant in Austria, the oldest hydro plant in the country.
The modernization will improve the 54-year-old plant’s efficiency and availability, and its annual output will increase by around 60MkWh.
With this project, Verbund is continuing its collaboration with Andritz Hydro to revitalize the power stations on the River Danube. Aschach power station on the Danube was previously modernized between 2006 and 2010.
