Analytica will take the lead position in designing and building municipal wastewater treatment plants for Chinese population centers.
The government adopted the updated environmental regulations in January 2014 which includes the development of new infrastructure.
The project will initially focus on Shenyang City, whose population is more than eight million.
The city’s urban area had 6,255,921 inhabitants as per the 2010 census.
Under an agreement, with the Chinese government, Analytica will design, construct and operate a pilot-scale municipal wastewater treatment facility.
The facility will be capable of processing about 600,000 tons per day of wastewater.
Analytica will work with the Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau over the next three months to identify the scope and all technical aspects for the project.
The company said the project will comply with the new anti-corruption law in China.
Upon completion of the plant, the government aims to promote the technology at the national level.
Analytica will then design further treatment facilities at larger scale for other cities throughout China.
Analytica president and director Luiz Brasil said: "This is a big opportunity for Analytica to take the lead position to develop wastewater treatment facilities for China and is an acknowledgement by the government of Analytica’s leadership role in the industry and of its patented, cutting edge technology which was developed jointly by the universities of Illinois and Taiwan under the leadership of our CEO, Kevin Wu."
