The company drilled the Barquentine-3 well to a total depth of about 13,400ft in water depths of approximately 5,170ft.
Barquentine-3 marks Anadarko’s sixth well to find recoverable natural gas in the Offshore Area 1 that includes the Windjammer, Lagosta, Barquentine and Camarao discoveries.
Anadarko operates the 2.6-million-acre Offshore Area 1 with a 36.5% working interest.
The company said it is in the process of mobilizing the Deepwater Millennium drillship to accelerate its activity in the Offshore Area 1.
