The company has encountered more than 230 net feet of natural gas pay in high-quality Oligocene-age reservoirs.
Barquentine-2, which was the first appraisal well in the Windjammer, Barquentine and Lagosta complex, was drilled to a total depth of about 13,500ft in approximately 5,400ft of water.
The company said that the results of this appraisal well also indicate that the Oligocene reservoirs are in static pressure communication between the wells.
Anadarko operates the 2.6-million-acre Offshore Area 1 with a 36.5% working interest.
