Americas Energy has said that its Artemus Project has sold the first coal production to a major Southern Utility Company on a test delivery.

Chris Headrick, President and CEO of Americas Energy, said: “The test order is 20,000 tons each for the months of May and June. The order will be mined in the Jellico coal seam by our contract miner Black Diamond Energy.

“Upon the successful completion of our test period, we will enter into a contract for 20,000 tons per month for the balance of this year as well as 2011 and 2012.”

Americas Energy is a consolidator of energy properties, operating out of its main offices in Knoxville, Tennessee. The company currently operates projects in both Kentucky and Tennessee, and develops energy projects throughout the Americas.
