AMEC claimed that this project continues the collaboration and project development by AMEC on the Kizomba fields and progresses the front end engineering design work for Kizomba Satellites, already completed by AMEC.
The project will be executed by Paragon Angola, AMEC’s joint venture with Prodiaman in Luanda, with support from AMEC’s Houston-based offices.
The project will reportedly enable the business in Angola to grow, establishing nearly 50 in-country employees with respect to this contract. The Houston support team is said to have about 150 personnel.
Simon Naylor, president of natural resources Americas business at AMEC, said: “The award of this significant contract by Esso Exploration Angola (Block 15) Limited at this time is further recognition of AMEC’s leading position in the development of complex offshore Angola projects and continues our long and successful relations with ExxonMobil.”
Kizomba A and B are said to be two floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels in the world. For the initial design, AMEC provided project management, including interface management, detailed engineering design and commissioning procedures, operating manuals and training.
