The Garner A Sand contains an indicated gas column of 130 feet, with electric log indications of at least 20 feet of good reservoir quality at the top of the section. The Garner B Sand has eight feet of excellent reservoir quality gas-charged sand, while the Garner C sand has indications of a 68 foot gas pay column, the top 30 feet of which appears to be of good reservoir quality.
Testing of the Garner C Sand, the deepest of the three, flowed oil and gas at an apparently stabilised rate of 2.8 million cubic feet of gas per day, 80 barrels of oil per day and seven barrels of water per day, at a flowing tubing pressure of about GBP5,200 per square inch during a four day production test. An absolute open flow potential of about 10 million cubic feet per day was indicated by this test. Further production testing will be required, to determine the areal extent and ultimate recoverable reserves associated with the zone.
The Garner A and Garner B Sands will remain behind pipe, while production testing of the Garner C Sand continues. Pipeline rights of way are currently being acquired, with a view to placing the Garner 1 well on production within the next three-four weeks. In view of the current level of gas prices prevailing in the Lavaca county area, which are about $3 per thousand cubic feet, production will be held at the level indicated in the above test, pending the recovery in gas prices which is anticipated over the next twelve months.
