Aimed at contributing most cost competitive capital from the market to acquire lands and rights under solar and wind assets, the program will facilitate developers and owners of land to develop large power projects and lease it back to them.
The funds can be more quickly and efficiently deployed towards relevant energy projects through this program, according to Altus Power.
Altus Power America Management managing partner and origination head Justin Marron said leasing the land would free up more capital for renewable-power systems and while monetising power assets.
"This agreement will allow us to identify attractive solar and wind land opportunities throughout the country and efficiently deploy capital," Marron added.
The first transaction would close by the end of the second quarter of 2014.
