The target, at Turkey Creek, was analyzed for Malachite over an area of 800m. Turkey Creek is located 2km east of the 100mt Little Eva deposit.
Rotary air blast and reverse circulation drilling across a 4.5km² area was conducted to define mineralization and the deposit’s economic prospect.
Drilling intersected low to medium grade copper mineralization over a 400m strike length and 50m width.
Altona managing director Dr Alistair Cowden said that the new copper deposit discovered close to Little Eva highlights the potential for discovery within the greater Roseby Project.
"The deposit clearly has potential to provide additional feed to the proposed Little Eva Plant," he added.
"There are a great number of similar targets to Turkey Creek within our 1,500 square kilometre tenure. Targets include combined copper anomalous drill and soil results, old workings and geophysical targets."
