Under the contract, the JV will receive a portion of the fuel savings as compensation for providing its blending unit, additives.
The customer, a coffee roasting company, will use Alternative Petroleum’s fuel oil emulsion product in its industrial boilers.
Navipac top executive Ramon Espinel said after a long and exhaustive evaluation period the customer has been satisfied that the use of the fuel oil emulsion reduces harmful emissions and improves combustion.
"Demonstrating a net fuel savings in a subsidized fuel market such as Ecuador gives us the confidence for our expansion," Espinel said.
