Under the five-year IPP agreement, Altaaqa will provide multi-megawatt temporary power solutions through partnerships within the worldwide Cat dealer network.
Altaaqa, a subsidiary of Zahid Group, provides fast-track and large-scale temporary power solutions ranging from 20MW to 100MW or more.
The company offers gas, diesel or dual fuel technology to sectors such as oil and gas, power utilities, mining, government services, military, manufacturing, and construction.
Caterpillar Electric Power vice president Bill Rohner said Zahid Group has a proven track record of customer service for over 60 years.
"Having them as a strategic partner will help expand Caterpillar’s evolving role in the IPP market," Rohner added.
Altaaqa Global Business Development general manager Peter den Boogert said the company’s temporary power plants are easy and quick to install and are mobile.
"We can intelligently generate electricity within weeks in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, Asia and the Pacific," Boogert added.
As part of the IPP agreement, Cat power generation consultants will work with a specialized power generation team from Altaaqa to quickly implement its temporary power solutions all across the world.
