The US Bureau of Reclamation has awarded Alstom a US$13M contract to refurbish two 142MVA generators at the SHASTA hydroelectric power plant in northern California, US.
The work includes new windings, new stator cores, new thrust bearings, new exciters and the re- insulation of the existing pole coils. Unit 1 is scheduled to be completed by September 2007 and Unit 2 by September 2008.
