Under the €3m contract, Alstom will supply and install a new generator stator, with the latest technology, and magnetizing equipment.

The company is scheduled to deliver stator in August 2015.

Alstom Power Sweden AB CEO Mats Andersson said: "We are proud that Lulekraft has given us renewed trust to make the combined power and heating plant more efficient.

"The project supports our strategy of offering customers complete service and installation solutions to ensure reliable operation and optimised efficiency."

Alstom will manufacture the new stator at its facility in Wroclaw, Poland while design work, project management, installation and commissioning will be performed in Västerås, Sweden.

Weighing approximately 110t, the stator will be transported by train, ship and trailer before being lifted into place through the roof of the plant.
