The Al Mansuriya gas-fired plant in the Diyala Governorate, northeast of Baghdad, will include four units, based on Alstom’s GT13E2 gas turbine.
Under the turnkey contract, the company is responsible for delivery of equipment and civil works.
Alstom said it will manufacture the equipment at its factories in France, Switzerland and Germany.
The first unit of the power plant is scheduled to commence operation in early 2013.
In July 2010, Alstom signed a memorandum of understanding with the Iraqi government for the development and modernisation of the country’s electricity infrastructure.
