THE NEW YORK POWER AUTHORITY has awarded a US$24.3M contract to Alstom for refurbishment work at the St. Lawrence – FDR hydro power plant.
The contract includes the overhaul of eight 58.9MW fixed blade propeller turbines, replacement of runners, model testing and repair work on-site.
Work is to be carried out by Alstom’s Denver facility, with installation scheduled for 2007–2013.
