Alstom will supply ten units of ECO 122 wind turbines, each generating 2.7MW, to the project.

Featuring the better rotor diameter within the 2MW to 3MW onshore turbine segment, the ECO 122 wind turbine combines high power and high capacity factor that boosts energy yield in low wind regions, Alstom said.

The wind turbines’ nacelles will be manufactured at Alstom’s plant in the state of Bahia, while the towers will be produced at Alstom’s new facility in Canoas city.

The wind farm, which is located at Viamao city, is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2015.

Alstom’s vice president renewable power and thermal power in Latin America Marcos Costa said, "This new partnership demonstrates the confidence of our customers in our products and services and confirms our growth in the wind market in Latin America."

Besides, Alstom will also provide operation and maintenance services for the wind turbines for a period of five years.
