Power engineering company Alstom has released its results for the first quarter showing orders up 64% compared with the same period of 2005 as a result of the booking of several turnkey gas power plant projects.
Sales in the power sector, at €1.3 billion, were up 7% on last year with additional orders of €2.2 billion, including seven GT26 gas turbines in Italy, UK and Australia, as well as several environmental control system contracts in the US and in Europe.
