Each of the two wind farms has a generating capacity of 20MW and uses 12 units of the Alstom ECO 86 wind turbine.
The power project was developed by Juhl Wind and financed by JPM Capital Corp, a subsidiary of JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Alstom wind business vice president and general manager for North America Andy Geissbuehler said that starting commercial operation of Alstom’s first wind project in North America is an important milestone for the company’s business.
Alstom said that it has installed or is installing over 2,100 wind turbines worldwide, with a total capacity of more than 2,700MW on over 110 wind farms in Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, UK, Turkey, Brazil, India and Japan.
