Uranium exploration company Alligator Energy has started the next phase of drilling at its Tin Camp Creek Uranium Project in the Alligator Rivers Uranium Province in Australia’s Northern Territory.

The initial part of the project is a 2,000m reverse circulation (RC) and diamond program developed to examine extensions to the existing resource at the Caramal Deposit and is underway.

The current phase of drilling will focus on areas with immediate potential to add to the existing resource.

Alligator is also planning additional drilling at the Caramal East and Gorrunghar Prospects in the 2013 Field Season. Surface sampling at Gorrunghar has identified high grade assays up to 6,089ppm U3O8 and has confirmed its potential as a priority drill target.

Alligator Rivers Uranium Province hosts about 1 billion pounds of high grade uranium resources and past production, including the Ranger Mine and Jabiluka.
