Planned to be commissioned in 2016, the Aleo’s factory in Prenzlau will manufacture polycrystalline and monocrystalline solar cells.
Aleo solar subsidiary Aleo Sunrise will be responsible for cell production operation at the facility, which is expected to create almost 100 jobs.

Aleo solar CEO Günter Schulze said: "aleo solar will benefit from greater flexibility through the cell production in Germany and will be well positioned across the photovoltaic value chain.
"With both cells and modules made in Germany we protect ourselves against anti-dumping duties and cost increases through exchange rate fluctuations."
Sino American Silicon Products (SAS), the parent company of Aleo, also supports the cell production facility with an investment of €15m.
Schulze said: "By integrating an additional production step at our headquarters in Germany, our engineers can also better fuse together the cell and module technologies.
"As a result aleo can even better ensure the quality and efficiency of our production in Germany."
In August, Aleo Solar agreed to supply the panels for SUNfarming’s 6.75MW solar project in Mecklenburg, Germany.
The company will manufacture more than 26,000 Aleo S18 SUNfarming modules which will be installed at two sites in Friedland.
SUNfarming managing director and co-founder Martin Tauschke said: "The SUNfarming quality modules from aleo solar produced in Prenzlau fulfill all our quality requirements and help guarantee high yields over the long-term."
