Alektrona, a connectivity provider for advanced metering, demand side management and efficiency applications, has introduced Google Power Meter Gadget Integration that allows customers to view their home or workplace energy usage from anywhere online using their iGoogle page.

The Google Power Meter, which forms part of Z-Aperture’s Energy Service Portal System Suite, is a free energy monitoring tool that also integrates with electronic devices within the home such as a smart energy thermostat and various load devices, such as air conditioners and pool pumps.

The new system, which does not require software installation or additional service and provides the Google Power Meter functionality from any computer, iPhone or web-enabled SmartPhone or device, has been designed to provide exact, revenue grade consumption and demand data.

The Z-Aperture can communicate with approved smart energy 1.0 meters from Itron, Landis+Gyr, and Elster in addition to other approved meters to provide the knowledge of energy use, considered as key factor in cost reduction and energy savings for consumers.
