The Tirana-based Teodori company is to construct two new hydroelectric power plants in Ternova in Albania, according to the Albanian Telegraphic Agency. The Zalli Bulqizes plant will generate 13.2M kWh of electricity a year, and the Ternova plant 15.6M kWh.

The Elbasan-based Skraqi has also been given the go-ahead by the Albanian authorities to construct the Uraka hydro plant in the Librazhd district. The plant will be built under the BOT system.

Meanwhile, the rehabilitation of the Vau I Dejes hydro plant on the Drini river in Albania started recently. A total of US$8M has been allocated for the reconstruction of the plant under a programme drafted by the Albanian Power Corporation (KESH).
