Comprising 24 holes totaling 1303ft, the sonic drill program was designed to evaluate new exploration targets on east and/or south of the previously defined resource and those identified by the earlier airborne geophysical survey.
To explore mineral continuity within and beyond the defined mineral resource in the northern strat section in order to assess the oxidized portion not evaluated by core drilling and explore for mineral extension to the Southeast of the grid.
Assay results include 3.65% and 3.27% graphitic carbon (Cg) grades in holes AGC-14-10S and AGC-14-11S at the surface to depths of 55′ and 60′.
At the surface to depths of 55′ and 53′, holes AGC-12S, and AGC-14-13S intercepted graphitic schist with average grades of 2.84% and 2.89% Cg respectively.
Alabama Graphite exploration vice president Douglas Oliver said: "The higher average grades seen in several new targets are worthy of follow-up testing and drilling.
"Based on the sonic drill results from both the northern strat section and to the southeast of the grid, we have the potential to expand the footprint of the existing oxidized resource."
"In particular, we look forward to initiating a PEA later this year where we can quantify the CAPEX and OPEX advantages of the Coosa Project compared to other North American graphite deposits."
Data from the sonic drill program will help the company to carry out future exploration, including an infill-drilling program of the inferred resource area and testing of the new target areas.
