The contract duration is five years, with the option to extend it by two additional two-year periods. The facilities covered by the agreement include the Heide, Hamburg-Harburg and Rheinland refineries.

The total contract value over the five-year period is estimated to be around E100 million.

The Rheinland refinery consists of two sites in Godorf and Wesseling, situated across a total surface area of 440 hectares. With a crude oil processing capacity of 17 million tons per annum (mtpa) it is reportedly the biggest refinery in Germany.

The Heide refinery has a capacity of 4.5mtpa, while the Hamburg-Harburg facility has a capacity of 4.6mtpa.
