National Helium will provide base-load helium feedstock for Air Products’ liquid helium plant located near Liberal in Kansas, US.
Air Products’ liquid helium plant, a helium distribution terminal, is also connected to the United States Bureau of Land Management pipeline system.
Air Products general manager -Worldwide Helium John Van Sloun said the company is pleased to extend its relationship with National Helium.
"This is a key supply contract for Air Products as we strive to ensure our ability to reliably serve our customer base," said Van Sloun.
"At the same time, Air Products continues to look for other helium source opportunities where we can participate both as an investor and an operator."
"Air Products is also supplied with helium feedstock from DCP Midstream at its Hansford County, Texas liquid helium plant.
Air Products has pioneered helium extraction, production, distribution and storage technologies and operates numerous facilities across the globe.
Air Products new liquid helium production plant, owned jointly with Matheson in Wyoming,US will come online this year.
The plant will process natural gas from the Riley Ridge Field and initially produce 200 million standard cubic feet per year and is expected to increase to 400 million in future.
Air Products is a provider of atmospheric, process and specialty gases, performance materials, equipment and technology services.
