Petrofac will undertake the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the gas compression system, and associated facilities at the Kauther gas plant, in addition to undertaking the commissioning and six months of initial operations. In turn, Petrofac has selected AHEC for executing the civil, structural, piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, telecom and HSE works.

“We are extremely happy to have successfully secured the construction contract for the Kauther gas depletion compression project,” Peter Hall, chief executive officer of AHEC said.

He added, “The Kauther Project builds on our significant reference list in the Oil and Gas facilities sector. We have been associated with the Shams Gas and Condensate Development Project carried out for PTTEP which was adjudged by Construction Week Dubai as the best “Small Project of the Year” for 2007. In a Joint Venture with SNC Lavalin, Canada we have built the Saih Nihaya Gas Treatment plant which was adjudged the Best project in 2005 by PDO as well as Oman’s Best project by Construction Week”.
