Italian fuel retailer Agip has broken with tradition in agreeing a deal for dispenser technology specialist Tokheim to provide its fuel dispensing services on Agip's domestic forecourts, PetrolPlaza has reported.
The development is a departure from Agip’s traditional business strategy to contract a single provider and so marks a new strategy to work with two dispenser technology providing firms.
According to PetrolPlaza’s report, Agip will position Tokheim as its preferred provider in Italy, having worked with the company extensively in many of its other European forecourt locations.

Initially, the new contract for Tokheim to supply its wares will run until April 2009.
