The Commission, pursuant to Section 34 of the Electric Utilities Act, approved the NID for the project in Decision 2013-394,1 and granted to the AESO this approval subject to the provisions of the Electric Utilities Act and the Alberta Utilities Commission Act, any regulations made under the acts, any orders made under the acts, and the Commission rules made pursuant to the Alberta Utilities Commission Act.
The project shall be comprised of the following system developments:
a) a new 144-kilovolt (kV) Willow Lake 2009S switching substation
b) two new 144-kV transmission lines to connect Willow Lake 2009S substation to the existing transmission line 7LA36 using an in/out configuration
c) a new 144-kV single-circuit transmission line to connect Willow Lake 2009S substation to the existing transmission line 7L36
d) decommission and salvage of portions of existing transmission lines 7L36 and 7LA36
e) two new 144-kV single-circuit transmission lines 7L126 and 7L182 to connect Willow Lake 2009S substation to the AHS-01 279S substation
The Commission may review this approval, in whole or in part, upon its own motion or upon an application by an interested party, in accordance with Section 10 of the Alberta Utilities Commission Act.
