Last week, the company received approval from the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio to acquire DPL.
AES’ operations, which span 27 countries, will now include 13 distribution companies and more than 100 generation plants with 40,000MW installed capacity.
With the acquisition of DPL, AES expands its presence in the PJM and Midwest regions of the US.
AES president and CEO AndrEs Gluski said this acquisition is an important step in AES’ efforts to grow in select markets while achieving operational efficiencies through greater scale.
